Out of town pool report #4 Micron briefing

The president entered the semiconductor exhibit in the museum at 1:18 PM. A sign behind him read, "Project Funded by President Joe Biden's Chips and Science Act." He was presented with a plaque by the Micron officials. "They're all this size," Biden joked.

Sanjay Mehrotra, the chief executive of Micron Technology, began briefing the president.

"When I look at this I think about how consequential this will be," Biden said as he looked at the model of the future Micron site.

Mehrota noted how a small percentage of semiconductors are currently manufactured in the U.S. He says the grants to Micron from the CHIPS act will result in 50,000 direct and indirect jobs.

Biden pumped his first at one point as he was briefed. Schumer said these chips are also used for artificial intelligence.

"It's going to have a gigantic impact," Biden said of the economic impact from the investment.

At one point, April Arnzen, executive vice president and chief people officer of Micron Technologies, mentioned relationships with community colleges and apprenticeship programs.

"You're preaching to the choir. My wife is teaching today at community college," Biden said. Press was told to leave the briefing at 1:31 PM.

Out of Town pool report #5 Biden remarks heads up// Karine recording

I haven't received a formal 2 minute but according to the program we should be close.

The president will speak in front of an American flag and sign reading "Investing in America." Before he spoke, Senator Schumer gave remarks praising the investment into New York.

"We are rebuilding upstate New York's economy one microchip at a time," he said, adding the investment was expected to create 50,000 jobs in Syracuse. "This is the largest single private investment in all of New York state's history."

I'm also hearing some struggled to access the Karine briefing on AF1. Here's my Otter in case that helps:

"It's one of the most significant science and technology investments in our history," Biden said.

He said the grants to Micron would result in 70,000 jobs across Idaho and New York.

The jobs don't require a college degree, Biden added.

"This is such a big deal," Biden said. "We're bringing advanced chip manufacturing back to America."

"My predecessor and his MAGA Republican friends have a very different view," Biden said, adding many Republicans, including Representative Elise Stefanik, opposed the bill. "I guess they're not going to be here to celebrate."

Out of town pool report # 14 campaign remarks/rolling

The pool was brought to the backyard of the actor Michael Douglas's home, where about 100 people sat under a tent waiting for the president.

Douglas spoke first. He joked that his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, couldn't be here because she was filming "a new series called Wednesday" with the actress, Jen Ortega.

"Right now is the most critical time in our democracy that I can remember in our life time," Douglas said.

Douglas turned it over to his son, Dylan Michael Douglas, a member of the Irvington Town Council.

Dylan said he was disillusioned in 2020.

"Everything I was feeling I put it into my vote," he said. "A vote for you Mr. President." He said he thought he was getting a "transitional" leader but instead he got a "transformational" one.

Biden then took the stage at 7:15 PM.

He joked that he has something in common with Michael Douglas. "We both married way above our stations," he said.

He talked about Douglas playing Benjamin Franklin recently and joked about Franklin being only a couple years older than he is now.

"Michael was a great American president," he said. He thanked Jamal Bowman and Mondaire Jones "who needs to win in November" for being present.

He said 1.5 million people have contributed to his campaign. "It feels good out there," Biden said.

He said his campaign has raised a quarter of a billion dollars so far.

Referring to Trump, Biden said, "I haven't had a chance to watch the court proceedings because I've been campaigning."

Biden talked about the press not writing about polls showing him doing well while citing polls in the press.

"I know not everyone's feeling the enthusiasm," Biden said. "The other day a defeated looking guy said he was feeling" crushed by debt. "I said Donald, I know," Biden joked.

He said Trump must be blamed for the new Florida ban.

"He appointed those folks," Biden said.

"The voters are going to hold him accountable," Biden said. "Trump and his MAGA crowd don't have a clue about the power of women."

"Chaos is nothing new to Trump," Biden said. "His presidency was chaos, not a joke."

"We'll never forget lying about Covid and telling the American people to inject bleach in their arms. He injected it in his hair," Biden said.

Well over a million people died from Covid, Biden said.

"We'll never forget his love letters to Kim Jong Un," Biden said.

"We'll never forget him wanting tear gas on peaceful protesters and holding the Bible upside down," Biden said.

"We'll certain never forget the dark days of June 6– January 6th, excuse me," Biden said.

He then talked about his investments in semiconductors, climate and healthcare.
He stopped speaking at 7:34 and we were rolling at 7:42. We loaded into ospreys at 8 PM. Your pooler did not see POTUS board M1.

One typo in this quote. It was CERTAINLY not CERTAIN.

"We'll certainly never forget the dark days of June 6– January 6th, excuse me," Biden said.
