Gen. Wilson Will Serve As Co-Chair of National Veterans Steering Cmte.

The Clinton Campaign today announced the endorsement of retired Army General Johnnie Wilson and named him a Co-Chair of its National Veterans Steering Committee.

"Hillary Clinton's broad experience in foreign affairs and her impressive service on the Armed Services Committee make her uniquely qualified to be Commander in Chief," Gen. Wilson said. "She has been a champion of our servicemen and women and veterans, and she has the ability to immediately begin repairing our standing in the world."

Gen. Wilson held a variety of staff and command positions over 38 years in the Army before retiring as Commanding General, U.S. Army Materiel Command.

After six years as an enlisted supply man, Gen. Wilson went to officer candidate school and later served in Vietnam. His assignments include Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Department of the Army, Pentagon; Chief of Staff, U.S. Army Materiel Command; Commanding General, Ordnance Center and School, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland; Deputy Commanding General, 21st Area Theater Command, U.S. Army Europe and 7th Army; Commander, 13th Support Command, Fort Hood, Texas; and Commander, Division Support Command, 1st Armored Division, U.S. Army Europe.

Gen. Wilson's awards and decorations include the Army Distinguished Service Medal (with Oak Leaf Cluster), Legion of Merit (with Oak Leaf Cluster), Bronze Star Medal (with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters) and the Meritorious Service Medal (with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters), among others.
