McCain Campaign Press Release - Statement by Rear Admiral Tom Lynch on Gen. Wesley Clark's Attack on John McCain

ARLINGTON, VA -- Rear Admiral Tom Lynch, USN (Ret.) today issued the following statement on Gen. Wesley Clark's attack on John McCain's military service record on CBS' "Face the Nation":

"For anyone to challenge John McCain's service to this country is an insult, particularly when it comes from the Obama campaign. John McCain's life has been defined by putting his country before anything else. If Barack Obama is serious about his promises for a new kind of politics, he can start by denouncing these attacks that are unworthy of anyone who seeks to be the next Commander in Chief."

Rear Admiral Tom Lynch, USN (Ret.) retired from the Navy following 31 years of distinguished service. His positions included Chief, Navy Legislative Affairs, command of the Eisenhower Battle Group during Operation Desert Shield, Superintendent of the U.S. Naval Academy from 1991 to 1994 and Director of the Navy S taff in the Pentagon from 1994 to 1995. Admiral Lynch graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with his Bachelor of Science degree in 1964 and received his M.S. from George Washington University.
