Boston, MA – Today, Governor Mitt Romney announced his slate of Congressional District delegates for the West Virginia primary on May 13th. Romney for President West Virginia State Chairman and Member of the House of Delegates Bob Ashley said:

"The Romney Campaign has a strong slate of Congressional District delegates that will add to the at-large delegate slate we named in December. Governor Romney is committed to a strong showing at the West Virginia Presidential Convention and in the May 13th primary. With the state of the economy on the minds of many West Virginians, Governor Romney is the clear choice for Republicans looking for a candidate with real-world experience and a decades-long track record of creating real jobs for real people."

Governor Romney was the first Republican Presidential candidate to campaign in West Virginia, the first candidate to announce he will compete in the West Virginian Presidential Convention, and the first to file to do so, in August 2007.

Governor Romney's Congressional District Delegates Will Be:


First Congressional District:

- The Honorable James M. McCutcheon: McCutcheon is a former member of the West Virginia House of Delegates. He also served on the West Virginia committee for the George W. Bush campaign in 2000 and 2004.

- Eric Frankovitch: Frankovitch is a Weirton native and attorney. He is a Past Chairman, Hancock County Republican Party.

- The Honorable Wayne Stutler: Stutler, of Fairmont, is a Marion County Commissioner. He was elected in 2006.

Second Congressional District

- Mark Higginbotham: Higgenbotham is a member of the West Virginia GOP State Executive Committee.

- The Honorable John Overington: Overington, of Martinsburg, is the longest serving member of the WV House of Delegates.

- Michael B. Stuart: Stuart is a Charleston attorney and Vice Chairman of the West Virginia GOP State Executive Committee.

Third Congressional District:

- Michael Hastings: Hastings served as Chairman of the Fayette County Republican Party for 15 years.

- William B. Snyder: Snyder is the Vice Chairman of the West Virginia GOP State Executive Committee for the Third Congressional District.

- Jack Fincham: Fincham is a member of the West Virginia GOP State Executive Committee.

- Bob Ashley: Ashley is a member of the West Virginia Legislature and a former Minority Leader in the West Virginia House of Delegates. He lives in Spencer.

- Norma Clise: Clise is a lifelong Republican activist living in Romney.

- John "Skip" Ellis: Ellis, of Bruceton Mills, is Chair of the Preston County Republican Party.

- Allen V. Evans: Evans is a Member, West Virginia Legislature. He lives in Dorcas.

- Marty Gearheart: Gearheart is the Chair of the Mercer County Republican Party. He lives in Bluefield.

- Steven A. Grimm: Grimm is the Wood County Assessor. He lives in Parkersburg.

- Priscilla Haden: Haden lives in Charleston, and is a civic leader in Kanawha.

- Brian Long: Long is the Chair of the Marshall County Republican Party. He lives in Glen Dale.

- Jeffrey Loudin: Loudin is a member of the Randolph County Republican Executive Committee.

- Jerry Mays: Mays, of Martinsburg, is the former Chair of the Berkeley County Republican Party.

- Sue McKinney: McKinney, of Bridgeport, is the Chair of the Harrison County Republican Party.

- Thomas O'Neill: O'Neill, of Morgantown, is the Vice Chairman of the West Virginia Republican State Executive Committee.

- Bill Phillips, Jr.: Phillips, of Elkins, was the Chief of Staff to former Governor Cecil H. Underwood.

- Melody Potter: Potter, who lives in Charleston, is the Chair of the Kanawha County Republican Party.

- Carolyn Rader: Rader, of Ripley, is Chair of the Jackson County Republican Party.

- Marti Riggall: Riggall, of Charleston, is a member of Kanawha County Republican Women.

- James Shaffer: Shaffer, of Morgantown, is a member of the West Virginia Republican State Committee.

- Chris Wakim: Wakim, of Wheeling, was a 2006 Congressional candidate and is a former member of the West Virginia Legislature.
